An Orchid House with exotic plants.
10 min walk to centre of town & Ferry building
30 min walk to Waitangi.
ABOUT PAIHIA AND THE FAR NORH.
PAIHIA is full of history, just a 10minute drive from the historical site of Waitangi where the Treaty between the Maori and British was signed in 1856.

Waitangi has a great golf course, if you are interested in Golf then this is a must for you. I am sure you will want to take the Clubs with you and spend some time on this fantastic Course. The views are amazing. Spend a day at Waitangi visit the site of the signing of the Treaty see the Marae, and the huge Waaka's (Maori canoe's)
Across the from Paihia is New Zealand's first Capital, now a small village called Russell. A short Ferry Ride on Fuller's Ferry will take you there. Interesting village with places to eat, and lots of historical things to see and momentos to buy. Spend a day in history.
Or visit the lovely beach and have a swim. Plenty to do and see and the children would love it.
Other attractions include a visit to the "Hole in the Rock" a day trip out on Fuller's launch where you visit several islands and actually go thru the "Hole in the Rock" (Weather permitting)
You can of course take a day trip around the 365 Islands in the Bay, Fuller's stop off for lunch at islands of significance in history, This is usually called "The Cream trip" where in the past Farmers who farmed the Islands needed to have their Milk and cream transported and this was how this particular trip got it's name. Very interesting.
Keri Keri is a small township about 1/2 hour's drive from Paihia. A lovely place to visit Citrus fruits are in abundance here, the centre of citrus fruits in New Zealand.
Again plenty to see and do in this small town. Nice shopping, nice restaurants and beautiful scenerary.
A little further afield and day trips are available or you can drive yourself, is the 90 mile beach and Cape Reinga.
This is the most Northern point in New Zealand where the Tasman and the Pacific oceans meet. Quite spectacular to see. Also you can visit many small bays along the way. Spirits Bay is one of these places, Quite unique, this is where the Maori believe their spirits go and it really is quite earie. The beach is made up of very finely worn shells. Very little sand to see but the shells are quite smooth to walk on. Be careful if you swim it has a really strong undertoe current. No lifesaver facility on this beach.
I do suggest you take the tour as they stop at a lot of interesting places you might miss if you drive yourself, Besides driving up the beach is tricky with the tides.
There are lots more places you can visit in the Far North. A Ride in a four wheel drive in the sand dunes. Not for the faint hearted but lots of fun. There is a Glow Worm Grotto with stream and native birds and eels in pools, take a picnic tea wait for the sun to go down and be guided thru the grotto, it is magnificent, peacful and exciting all at the same time. You will see our famous Kiwi at night.
The cost to stay at this resort is a steal at $1000 for the week. Check-in Friday after 2pm check out the following Friday by 10am.
